One of the most common questions clients ask me is:

“How come your pictures are so clear and crispy?”

It’s a great question, but the answer is similar to asking: “How do you prepare good food?” There’s never just one factor. In product photography —whether it’s furniture, fashion, jewellery, food, glass, cosmetics, or metallic objects—several elements combine to create the final image.

1. Studio Lighting Setup

Good lighting is where it all begins. Even within the same product category, lighting setups must be adapted to the material and surface.

  • Jewellery: Diamonds and gemstones require custom lighting to highlight brilliance without harsh reflections.

  • Furniture: Glass, wood, and upholstery all need different approaches to show texture and detail.

  • Food: Packaged items, bottled drinks, and plated meals each demand unique setups to make them look fresh and appetizing.

2. The Editing Process

Post-production is equally important. Editing can take a few minutes—or up to 1–2 hours per photo—depending on the complexity.

  • Jewellery: remove dust and scratches, enhance sparkle

  • Furniture: correct lines, refine materials, match colors

  • Food: balance tones and textures for natural appeal

Final Thoughts

Professional product photography combines technical skill and creativity. From lighting to editing, every step is customized to ensure your products look their absolute best.
